Description

NEW ARTWORK.
Judas Priest - "Firepower".
Need I say more? Well I will.
Working on this project was a true pleasure; band and management are monuments of professionalism and excellency! From the beginning, they were open to fresh ideas and originally the only directive I was given was the title. But I knew exactly what I wanted to see on a Judas Priest album cover, it was a debt of self-indulgence to my inner teenager - Personally, I knew it had to be a being in the same vein of the classic 80s covers; - Hellion on “Screaming for Vengenance”, Metallian on “Defenders of the Faith and of course The Painkiller - but with a more lethal vibe. Richie Faulkner was of tremendous contribution; we both speak the same geek language. The Metal God gave it a name that is larger than life, but you'll have to wait a little more for that!
As far as design go, I knew It had to be made of metal, but not chrome, I didn't want to use materials already seen. That made me to think of a refined and polished finish, like titanium. Another thing I knew is that it couldn't have a vintage look, Priest is a band that is on constant re-invention; they move on a fine line between classic and new. The diagonal composition is the cherry of the cake and places the artwork in the Judas Priest tradition.
The inspiration for the entity itself comes from a lifetime of pop culture, animation and sci-fi. "Lethal, fast and relentless; a being forged in the unimaginable temperatures of a new sun with sole purpose of annihilate anything on its path"

Firepower is probably one of JP's other best albums (alongside Painkiller, Defenders of the Faith & Angel of Retribution). I saw them at Bloodstock a few weeks ago (it was my 2nd time seeing them) & they were just incredible, just as awesome as the last time I saw them (1st saw them at Download Festival in 2015).
